I joined on the 21st of December 2003.

I’m member number 77832, one of the first 80,000 people in the world on the platform.

The biggest benefit that I’ve got from it is the fact that I can build this enormous network, stay in touch regardless of whether people change their phone, e-mail address, organisation, job role country and I absolutely love it.

For the record, I joined because I had been running my first website and social enterprise Newcomers Network for just over two years and I was looking for online networks that people could join when they were moving – several that I joined back then have died… ecademy (UK), Ryze (US) and OpenBC (Germany but now called Xing).

Now, you can also join Viadeo (France), Goodwall (Switzerland) and The Dots (UK).
