What options do you have for writing the About Section of your LinkedIn Profile?
First Option is First Person.
I started here, I went there, I did something else.
Now the issue I have with First Person is that if somebody else is reading it and says I, they’re going to be thinking about themselves, not about you. And some people have a tendency to use I too often in the About Section.
Second Option is No Person.
Started here, went there, did something else.
I feel this a little bit cold and impersonal, but it is an option.
And the Third Option is Third Person.
Sue started here, Sue did this, Sue did something or another else.
This is my favourite option because when the person reads it, they’re going to be remembering what it is that I do and what I can offer, rather than thinking about themselves.
