BEFORE LEAVING YOUR JOB // What can you do on LinkedIn before you leave your job? 🤔
1. Make sure you’ve added your work email address to your account and verified it and keep it on there forever. 📧
[This is for a) potential verification of your LinkedIn Profile b) to prevent adding the email address to another LinkedIn account c) to help LinkedIn find people you may know and d) to avoid creating a duplicate account (Please remember to abide by any social media policy of the organisation, especially if you work for the government!). You can also change your Primary Email Address to your Personal Email Address.]
2. Connect with everyone you know, the people you work with, your managers, colleagues, people who are in the industry, clients, stakeholders, suppliers, friends and family, everyone. 🤝
3. Click on My Network and go through the list of people there and click on their profiles and endorse them for their skills.✅
4. Ask for and write recommendations. Make sure you’ve got six, both given and received. ✍️
5. Get a backup of your data by going to Settings, Data Privacy, get a copy of your data, requesting the full archive, and as soon as you get that email, click on the link and download the files. 🛟
