Happy Galentine’s Day Poem

By Sue Ellson

To all the gals
That I cherish and admire
Happy Galentine’s Day
Who needs a sire?

For in our truth
We stand at ease
We have the choice
To do as we please

Our lives are fun
And full of love
We share our joy
In our collective hub

Our closest friends
Those near and dear
They keep us sane
Year after year

So on the 13th of February
We all say
To all the gals
Happy Galentine’s Day!

We all know that the 14th of February is most well known as ‘Valentine’s Day’ and in recent years, there has been a trend for single women to get together and celebrate with their female and non-romantic friends and call it ‘Galentine’s Day‘ on the day before, 13th February. It is believed to have come from the NBC Comedy Series, Parks and Recreation in 2010.

Either way, this Valentine’s Day, I would like to acknowledge the many amazing women in my life who definitely keep me sane and ensure that my life is full of love and laughter. With love, Sue Ellson 🙂
