LYING TO GET A JOB // Brigitte Duclos and I discussed the topic of lying to get a job and finding it difficult to secure a job as a teenager on 📻 774AM ABC Radio Melbourne.

Selected highlights include:

✅ Youth Unemployment Rate has increased from 9.8% in August to 10.2% in September 2025
✅ Can no longer rely on dropping off a resume and hoping to get a job
✅ Need to have an online presence and be able to showcase your digital competency
✅ Value of finding a job tailored to your interests
✅ Need to have a LinkedIn Profile for Graduate positions
✅ Not needing 100% competency to apply for a job (60% of skills will do)
✅ Massaging the message with an example related to leaving jail
✅ Getting out of the house and being involved in local in person activities
✅ Networking and referrals from parents, friends’ parents, contacting people directly
✅ Height requirements for nurses and police changing over time

Naturally, I recommend telling the trust at all times…
