Poetry Writing Getaway Warragul Victoria
I wrote, published and launched my first three 80,000 word non-fiction books in 2016 (the best year of my life). My fourth book was launched in 2019 (on the best day of my life) and my fifth book was launched online in 2023. Books four and five were also finalists in the Australian Career Book Award!
I came up with the idea for my first poetry book in 2016 – ‘Poems for lovers to read to each other‘ (to encourage adults to read to one another) and since then, ‘Poems for me to truly be‘ (think Dr Seuss meets Dr Phil), and a third, ‘The Prophetess‘ (based on Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet) but I still don’t have them in print!
However, I have published 174 poems on this website and these have been re-published elsewhere in various locations over 190 times!
On 30 May 2026, I decided it was time to go on another writing getaway to make these poetry books happen as I have not been away to do some focused writing and sorting since 2019!
I booked an AirBnB in Warragul, Victoria from 5-9 June 2026 and I have made a promise to myself that I will announce my next book launch date by 30 June 2026.

I plan to host an in-person event in Melbourne and an online event for anyone who cannot attend in-person or is somewhere else in Australia or overseas.
As a writer and author, writing non-fiction books in my area of expertise from 2016 to 2023 was time consuming and challenging, but very logical.
Poetry is much more personal and I have set myself a very high standard – and have decided not to include a lot of what I have already written and collected since 2016!
Most of the poems are ‘observations’ about life that I hope you find fun, inspiring and insightful.
Anyway, the journey continues so watch out for more details coming soon!
