Hi, Sue Ellson here in Perfect Perth, Western Australia, and I’m here with another LinkedIn Specialist, Jo Saunders, and we’ve been connected online for many, many years, but this is the first time we’ve met in person.
So, we thought we’d get together and just share a little tip about the value of LinkedIn and something important to remember. So, Jo, would you like to go with your first tip?
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think it’s really going back to that human connection and giving yourself permission to be yourself because so many people are trying to be somebody else, trying to show up as the person they think they need to be when really you want to be yourself, which is why I am myself on video now and not dressed up like Sue is because she was doing something different to me.
Yeah, I was on television on Channel 9 this morning, but Jo was the one who reached out to me. She saw in my news in her newsfeed that I was here in Perth and she decided to reach out and connect. So that’s been fabulous.
We’ve had a lovely cup of coffee or not coffee, chai actually. And we’ve just been talking all things LinkedIn and I just shared with Jo how Microsoft owns LinkedIn and 28% of ChatGPT Open AI and they’re going to be bringing out a Jobs Platform in the future.
Now, I’m not a huge fan because with LinkedIn, we connect with relationships and building a network. And the problem with the ChatGPT version is it’s going to be based on all your behaviour that they’ve been mining while you’ve been using ChatGPT and I’m not a huge fan of that.
So, I’m definitely about networking and maintaining those relationships and we’re definitely doing that here in Perth.
