The Greatest Gift Poem
The greatest gift
Could be to believe
To understand, to accept
All that you see
The greatest gift
Could be to have faith
To wait, to pause
Let things have their own pace
The greatest gift
Could be to hope
To dream, to imagine
A much wider scope
For you are not alone
On this journey of life
Stand tall, stand proud
Rest easy, and by day, ignite
Your spark
Your flame
It can truly shine
Left to wither, it will surely decline
The greatest gift
Is to breathe and flow
To share with the world
Your inspiring inner glow
I have always been one who wants to ‘help my life along,’ to learn, to improve, to fix or to forget. More recently, I have learnt that it is possible to allow for both myself and for others. To stop being fixated on defined goals that I have declared publicly and to let life unfold in its own sweet way. To be kinder to myself and to understand the challenges of others without trying to control the outcomes.
One thing that I have discovered is that within each person, there is a beautiful glow, that too often, people hide from the outside world, especially if they have not been heard, accepted, understood or even listened to without judgement in the past.
So I guess my message in this poem is to encourage you to let that inner glow be seen – it really is beautiful, and it can attract the most wonderful opportunities to you. With love, Sue Ellson 🙂
