Love Your Sister Poem
Love your sister
That special soul
The one who’s heart
You can always hold
Love your sister
In her darkest hour
For it is her light
No illness can devour
Love your sister
And your shared family
The bond you share
Is true humanity
Love your sister
Let her memory keep
The joy of life
Sown so deep
And if she leaves
Or cannot stay
Remember her love
In your own way
For that is your truth
Whatever you do
And therein is peace
And love ever new
I was inspired to write this poem after hearing Samuel Johnson reading out Desiderata on Facebook. Many Australians know of Sam via his charity work for Love Your Sister in relation to his sister Connie.
I have sent it through and hope it will be shared on the charity’s website and what would be even more amazing is if Sam reads it out – and if he does, I will definitely post it here! With love, Sue Ellson 🙂
