OpenAI Jobs Platform AI Career and Recruiter Agent and LinkedIn

Are you ready to hand your career and your work opportunities over to an AI Agent? 🤔

This could be the new reality when OpenAI launches their Jobs Platform and your use of ChatGPT trains AI in what you have to offer and then matches you with fractional work.

This article by Aaron Matthews explains this in fantastic detail…

When Your AI Becomes Your Agent: OpenAI’s Jobs Platform Will Kill the Resume

I am partially relieved that LinkedIn has bought into OpenAI, but here is what I suggest savvy individuals start doing now:

➡️ make sure you have your own name website online showcasing your capabilities and achievements throughout your career (AI scrapes this data)

➡️ make sure you add the ‘Skills’ you have in multiple sections of your LinkedIn Profile including the About, Experience, Licenses and Certifications, Projects, Education and Courses sections

➡️ continue adding Endorsements for Skills to people in your LinkedIn Network and hopefully they will return the favour – the more votes you have for your main skills, the better

➡️ keep your Education and Courses sections on LinkedIn up to date with all of the education and training you do, particularly if the Education provider gives you a digital credential clickable link upon completing their course

➡️ continue to Follow the Company / School Pages of the organisations where you would like to work so that you are more likely to appear in their search results

➡️ continue connecting with everyone you meet personally and professionally as there will still be a lag between full implementation of AI agents and human ‘relationships’ are still extremely important

➡️ keep an open mind as to how often you need to reflect on the capabilities you need to continually develop throughout your career to remain employable in the future

➡️ make sure you have an ‘asset building’ focus rather than a ‘spending my income’ focus as you may need to rely on the revenue from assets in the future if employment becomes inconsistent

This is especially important if you are not regularly using AI and they are not collating your skills and experience.

Interestingly, I predicted that the future of work is ‘work not jobs’ when I wrote my Gigsters book back in 2019 and I suggested that we need to use technology to attract aligned gigs.

Well, the future is here.

Time for action.

Let me know if you need some help with this…
