Blue Poem

Blue in the sky
Blue in the ocean
Blue in the throat chakra
Expresses emotion

 

Blue is calm
Blue is serene
Blue is content
Feels nice and clean

 

Blue of pure mind
Blue of guiding energy
Blue of faith and trust
Seeking true synergy

 

Blue to communicate
Blue to listen too
Blue to join the rhythm
Mindful of all that you do

 

Blue can heal your trauma
Blue can soothe your soul
Blue can give you comfort
Leading you in your role

 

Ironically if you are down
People may call you blue
But now you know the truth
About what blue can do for you

 

At the beginning of 2021, I started walking to the nearby Canterbury Gardens and would lay on the grass underneath the lovely trees and look up at the beautiful blue sky. Whilst I love living in this area, I miss being close to the sea. But I immediately realised that the sky is the same colour as the sea and I could use it as my ‘substitute’.

Today, I looked out the window and saw the beautiful blue again and felt compelled to write about the colour blue. It has long been my Mother’s favourite colour and today, my sister sent me a competition entry for something else that was blue. I then Googled ‘blue’ and found this interesting piece about Chakra Anatomy for the throat (which has the colour blue associated with it) and wrote this poem based on some of the details within.
