Within Poem
There is a time
There is a place
That we all would run to
For our own free space
A place of fantasy
A place of fun
A world away
From the boring hum drum
We strive
We seek
We vow not to yield
Until we find
That fresh new field
We find it
We cherish it
We bathe in its bliss
But then we ask
Is this really it?
For what we discover
Beneath that veneer
Is the exact same person
Full of hopes, dreams and fears
The eternal peace
Is just out of reach
We cannot grasp it
Like waves on the beach
The reality is
No less, within
Waiting to be healed
Just lost in the wind
Rescue your soul
From that moment of glory
Return again
To your own sweet story
And you will find
A new way to begin
Full of love and laughter
And your heart will sing
Sometimes we can find ourselves making judgements about other people based on what we see, hear or feel in that particular moment. Sometimes we have the opportunity to meet someone and go way beyond this observation level and communicate without words. I see this as the ultimate way to access healing and enlightenment. I believe it is a way to see beyond the hum drum of daily living and really value what we already have and those around us – and potentially look at these loved ones, friends and family members, with fresh new eyes. I hope you can take a moment to pause and fully appreciate what is already around you – it is more precious than gold. When you see this beauty in someone else, remember that you can see it because it is in you. With love, Sue Ellson 🙂
