1. Artificial Intelligence AI
In last month’s newsletter, I talked about Bing and its use of Artificial Intelligence and chat query and prompts. I have been attending several events about ChatGPT and will be showcasing my perspective on it at the Melbourne Career Expo on 15 July 2023 and the Australian Childcare Alliance Early Learning Leaders Summit on 18 August 2023.
I have worked in both the analogue and digital world and there are key principles that we need to understand to use AI tools, particularly in relation to careers and business. Interestingly, I don’t see it as a huge ‘jump’ despite its astronomically fast uptake, but let’s remember the value of all humans as we integrate it into our society. Let us all be good shepherds of our fellow humans.

7. New LinkedIn Features
a. Premium Membership Goals – if you have a LinkedIn Premium Account, you can set some goals and get some suggestions at https://www.linkedin.com/premium/my-premium
Suggestions provided to me include sending two or more InMails, Follow up with profile viewers, Apply to 5+ jobs, See how I rank, Spend 30 minutes learning and Visit Company Insights. Further down the page, I can do some Interview Prep, See Keyword Suggestions, Browse Privately, Open Profile, Turn on Tips and Display Premium Profile Badge. Well worth a visit although make sure you focus on your purpose before taking action.
b. Carousels – This option has moved from the main Newsfeed four choices and you now need to click in the Start a Post box to see this choice. Canva also provides some handy LinkedIn Templates for your carousel.
c. Company Page Prompt – There is a new layout coming for the administrators of Company Pages and in the main Newsfeed, you can now see a Post ideas prompt.

9. Musing
New beginnings. Here in Australia, it is the end of the financial year. Endings can be therapeutic. When we wrap up the past and prepare for our future. What could a blank fresh page look like for you? What would you like to include in your future? What would you like to leave behind? Take a moment to pause and reflect as too often, we rush on with the busyness of our lives.
